It was free and I wanted to read something from this author. The storyline and characters I liked. The excessive amount of foul language I didn’t. I’m not a prude but it didn’t seem necessary nor did it jive with the image of the characters for me.

Wow. I’m more of a suspense/ mystery reader myself but I decided to read this book for a change. I loved it so much I could not put it down until I was finished !! Amazing story, sexy details and great characters. The whole story line was awesome and I cannot wait to read more of her books.

Simon is Wonderful!

I really enjoyed The Sexy One. I loved that it was from both Abby and Simon's perspective. Not that I don't like only being in the guy's head, but I feel like it adds more to the book when it's dual perspectives. The Sexy One was really cute and sweet. It had a bit of a different feel than her other books and I liked having that. It was a smooth book, not many problems, which sort of surprised me. I love books with little kids and single dads, they're always adorable and that was definitely the case with this one. Simon is more mature and business minded, but isn't afraid to be goofy and playful with his daughter. I love the dynamic between Simon and Abby and how alike they are. They're a great match for one another and I really liked reading about their relationship. The Sexy One is one of my favorite Lauren Blakely books so far.

I just love a good nanny story!

I just love a good falling for the nanny story! Simon Travers is a divorced dad of the cutest little girl, Hayden. He is also the fantasy of every other nanny and they've nicknamed him "The Sexy One"....tall, gorgeous and so sexy! He is also sweet, kind, smart, funny and the best dad ever! That is why Abby Becker has fallen for him. Problem though is that she needs this job so she keeps her longing to herself. I really loved the conversations Abby and Simon had. It was fun, silly and just so sexy at times. I loved how both of these characters longed for the other but knew they shouldn't because they didn't want to lose what they had. But the minute they decided to forge ahead....BOOM! These two exploded. I loved them together. They were both fun and quirky at the same time. Add Hayden into the mix and it just worked. Simon's ex-wife, Miriam added a little fun into the mix. Loved the scene where Abby first met her! Priceless. Overall I really enjoyed this story and the characters. Great read and I highly recommend it!

Deliciously good

The Sexy One, is so deliciously good. I loved every minute of it! Simon.. Oh Simon. Single, successful father. Who loves his daughter beyond anything. He found a great nanny in Abby. Who is also this very, energetic, almost has that youthfulness about her. I could honestly, see why Simon would want her so much. And good lord! the passion. The need they have for each other. I felt it on every page. I’ve read so many of Lauren’s books and she truly has this gift. Creating these amazing characters, that you can really connect with. Really feel what they are feeling. You root for them, through out this story. I love how, these two come together. How there’s not this extreme amount of drama. It’s just the pureness of falling for each other. I feel sorry, for anyone who has not had the pleasure of reading Lauren’s books. The writing, just really draws you in. I felt almost like I was watching this movie, playing right out in front of me. As a reviewer, I know what I love. So whenever I see Lauren’s coming out with something new. I can’t wait to jump in. I really jumped into The Sexy One, had it completely finished within a few hours. I really loved it. Most books will have the girl and the guy breaking up by the end then getting back together. I loved how in this one they just tried to resist to each other but when they started they shared their thoughts and tried to come up with something that can satisfy both parties.

The Sexy One Is Lauren Blakely’s latest standalone novel. Her previous books including this cast of characters (Big Rock, Mr. O, and Well Hung) have been told from the male POV, and it’s been thoroughly enjoyable being inside a man’s head (with a Lauren Blakely twist). The stories have been an entertaining exploration of how a man thinks (because, of course it’s pretty clear what it is they are thinking about), and each book has also been doused with a generous splash of humor for good measure. The Sexy One is the first in this “series” of stories to be told from two perspectives, with POVs alternating between the two main characters. The book takes a bit more of a serious perspective on the subject of love. Don’t get me wrong, it still brings all the fun and flirty that readers have come to expect and love in a Lauren Blakely novel, but this one had a little more serious tone as well. While it can be read as a standalone, I always love that Lauren’s past characters make cameo appearances in new stories. It makes it fun to catch up with these fictional friends and acquaintances. Here’s what I mean: We first met Simon Travers in Mr. O. Readers may remember him as the single dad who hires Harper (of Nick and Harper) to perform her magic show at his daughter Hayden’s birthday party. Simon vexes Nick throughout most of that book, (which, in and of itself, makes for a pretty funny storyline). As that book nears the end, Simon tells Harper he’s thinking about hiring a nanny for Hayden, and Abby refers him to her friend Abby. So, fast forward seven months, and that’s where The Sexy One begins. Simon and Abby have fallen into a comfortable routine as employer and employee. But in the characters’ respective minds (which is why the alternate POVs work here), the attraction has been mutually brewing for about six months and twenty-nine days, minus maybe a few hours. Simon’s character is, well… sexy (of course), but in more than just the “washboard abs and chiseled features” kind of way. I mean, come on, what’s sexier than a smokin’ hot, devoted single dad anyway? Abby is great with Hayden, and it’s easy to see that the two of them adore one another. She’s younger than Simon, but she has a mature and eclectic quality about her that I really liked. She’s smart and witty, great with kids (of course), and has a pure kind of sincerity that appealed to me (and most definitely to Simon). Call it cliché if you want to, the whole single dad falls for the younger nanny trope. I don’t care. It worked for me. I’ve sworn that I’m going to stop saying “my favorite book so far,” when it comes to Lauren Blakely’s stories. So, I’ll just say, The Sexy One is definitely a stand-out for me in this series. Five heartwarming stars.

I received an ARC of The Sexy One by Lauren Blakely in exchange for an honest review. What can I say?? Totally in love with Simon and Abby!! Simon is THE hot single dad who takes such wonderful care of his little girl, Hayden. This story had my full attention from the get go. Typical Blakely fashion is lots of sexual tension, buildup with fun, sexy banter and lots of hot, steamy love scenes in private and somewhat public. The story is just wonderful and will keep your attention. My absolute favorite part is that this story is told with a dual POV. Really love being able to understand what is going on in each character's head.

A sexy blend of romance, romance, and more romance!!!!! Yes, Lauren Blakely has me totally smitten with The Sexy One. Seriously, this is one read that was sweet and sticky as molasses as The Sexy One was dripping with cuteness, sexual tension, humor, and steam. I practically devoured this book in one sitting and wanted to reread it right away. Lauren didn’t need to twist my arms to fall in love with her book as Simon and Abby were absolutely perfect. They were that couple that caused you to have that goofy smile on your face. How could you not fall head over heels in love with them? Hot smart nanny and ridiculously sexy single dad? Ummm...yes please!!! Did I mention Simon knows how to french braid his daughter’s hair? Swoon! “We’re not a couple. We’re not together. She’s my daughter’s twenty-six-year-old nanny. I’m her thirty-four-year-old employer. Abby is bright and beautiful and funny and smart and so f%$#ng sexy, and she’s only giving me advice on clothing because she’s one of the most upfront and caring people I’ve ever met, not because she’s playing house.” Simon is a single divorcee dad of a beautiful five year old girl. His love for his daughter, Hayden will make any hearts flutter. Trust me, Lauren Blakely gave me the warm fuzzy feeling each time I read how sweet and caring Simon is with his daughter. I absolutely adore Abby and Simon. Heck, I would be a nanny too if my boss was Simon. So if you are looking for a feel good read that hits all the right notes of friendship, banter, steam, beauty, and new beginnings then The Sexy One is the book for you.

Sexy and sweet

I am always excited to read Lauren’s books. They are always sweet, sexy, and full of heart. We were previously introduced to Simon in Mister O and I was very happy that Lauren was able to give that to us. Simon is a single father raising his daughter, Hayden and Abby is the nanny that works for him. It seems that Abby has the hots for her boss but unbeknownst to her, Simon has the hots for her as well. As they spend time alone, their attraction will start tumbling over. How will Simon and Abby handle this? This was a great read. I loved how devoted and loving Simon was as a dad. It was sweet to read and it just made me swoon. I also liked how though they were boss and employee, Abby and Simon got along great and had a nice friendship. Abby and Hayden’s relationship was also nice. Those were the sweet parts of the story. Now Simon and Abby together without Hayden was pretty hot. The attraction was over the charts and I couldn’t wait to see where it would go. Those two just made my heart happy. I liked how Lauren built up their relationship to where the chemistry overflows. However I did want more of them together as a couple. I just felt that with the buildup we didn’t get enough of their relationship. But that is just me wanting more. Overall, a wonderful read that will leave you glowing.

Simon, Simon, Simon!!! Let's talk Simon. Lauren Blakely outdid herself with the Sexy One. Simon is definitely all things sexy. Let me mark them off.... 1) Single dad who adores his daughter. 2) Successful and hard-working. 3) Funny. 4) Flirty. 5) Smart and 6) Oh so hot!!! I absolutely love this book. Simon and Abby just fit. They both have the same goal and that is to do what is best for Simon's daughter, Hayden. Abby is Hayden's nanny and she is so attracted to Simon, but loves her job and won't do anything to mess it up. Abby is the best thing that has happened to Hayden. Although Simon is wildly attracted to her, he doesn't want to risk messing things up. The pull is just too strong and they fall all in. Can Abby be both girlfriend and nanny or will it all fall apart? You definitely want to read and see what comes of sexy Simon and Abby. This is a five star must read!!

Simon and Abby are my new favorite couple! I loved this book and the alternating POV between the. Simon is a single father, attractive with a great personality who is trying not to be a cliche by falling for his nanny. Abby is the sweet, fun, charismatic nanny trying not to be a cliche by falling for her boss. This is the story of a growing bond that brings two friends together and the hurdles they have to get over. Another fantastic read by Lauren and the sneak peeks of her new releases have me counting down the days!

If you are looking for a new book boyfriend (or even if you are not), look no further because Simon Travers will make your knees weak and your insides swoon! Lauren Blakely is known for her hot, sexy alpha males but Simon is a different breed unto his own. Yes, he's super hot and sexy but what is most endearing is that he is a single dad who is so incredible with his daughter that you will most certainly feel your ovaries explode the moment you open this book! No joke---he is probably THE hottest single dad I've ever read about and trust me....I've read quite a few who have made me swoon! But Simon is in his own league! He is the coolest dad and completely committed to his little girl which elevates him to perfection. We first met Simon in Blakely's Mister O when Harper was hired as the magician for Simon's daughter, Hayden’s birthday party. Even then he made me swoon! Fast forward to The Sexy One and I pretty much did a jig knowing I was about to read an ENTIRE BOOK about this amazing man! And Blakely did not disappoint even the slightest because this book is everything I could've hoped for and more! Abby is Hayden's nanny---she sweet, she's fun and, of course, she's gorgeous. Hayden is an adorably precocious 5 year old girl who, at times, stole the show because she was just too adorable and funny for words! She loves Abby who introduces her to many new and exciting things as they navigate around the city. Abby has harbored a huge crush on Simon since she started working for him and, unbeknownst to her, it has been completely mutual all along. Watching their attraction continue to grow is like a dance in seduction and I couldn't wait for the moment they would finally connect. And when that time came-----WHOA! Talk about sparks and fireworks! The chemistry between Simon and Abby was combustible and, in typical Blakely fashion, their story became insanely sexy, hot and steamy. I'm talking 5-alarm, hose me down H-O-T!!! But not only is this story hot, it's also laugh-out-loud funny, tender and beautiful. Simon and Abby are two people who are evidently meant for each other and it shows throughout the story. There is so much love and goodness with all of the characters that you will be rooting for them from the first page. This was probably one of my favorite stories of Blakely's because of how real and genuine the characters were. Of course, that could be said for all of her books but this one struck me differently because of Simon and his relationship with Hayden. There is just something about a single dad and his love for his little girl that did me in! The Sexy One is 5++ stars all the way!!!

Romance is in the air!

The SEXY ONE has to be one of my top ten favorite reads this year! This is so much more than the nanny having the hots for her boss and vice versa. Simon sees how amazing Abby is with his daughter and the kindness she shows to everyone around her. He falls in more than lust with her and she with him. He is gorgeous and wealthy but is wounded by his past and Abby wants to do everything she can to soothe his soul and show him what a wonderful man he is. She also wants him know what it feels like to be truly loved by a woman. The sex scenes are so scorching hot that I had to knock the dust off of my battery operated boyfriend to take care of my hot and botheredness. Whew! Lauren knows how to build up to the big moment and has you fanning yourself and panting for more. If you like a little romance, a little scorching heat, and a little swooning you will love this sexy read.

Sweet, Sexy and AWESOME

The Sexy One by Lauren Blakely Lauren has once again provided a panty melting, sinfully sexy book to read. This latest installment was fun to read with her unique style of mixing a little bit of the characters we have come to love from Well Hung, Mr. O and Big Rock (if you have not read….SHAME ON YOU). We got to revisit the scene from Well Hung where Wyatt meets Simon at the restaurant for the quote for the kitchen remodel which gives up Simon’s perspective. Truly awesome to read that scenes from Simon’s perspective. Simon and Abby are sweet together and yes it is cliché (nanny and sexy dad). There is of course the ex-wife which we learn is also a cliché (slept with coworker) but is pretty cool about this situation. Personally by the time I got the middle of the book I wanted to shake them both with a Gibb’s (NCIS) slap to the back of the head. They were obviously very attached to each other and had formed a relationship that was not build on sex and they bonded over eaglets. I laughed, cringed and got angry at this book but was so engrossed I read it in one sitting. Hayden is a delight to read about and she is so funny with her statements as this story moves forward. To sum up my favorite part of this book and why this story works. Quote from Abby: “I like working with kids. It’s real. No falseness. No pretense. That and I’ve always been at home with wild dogs. Three brothers and all” I highly recommend this book and for Lauren I would love to see a follow-up on all of these books to know how they get their HEA. PLEASE READ!!!
